“You’re well-networked, you’re going to be okay.”
And as moms often are, she was right. I had built strong relationships with a wide range of people were integral to many of the opportunities I was able to take advantage of later on.
Having a wide network – and then deploying it at crucial moments – is more important to the Defector process than many give it credit.
